About the Doctors
Dr. Philip A. Gentry, DDS, FAGD
Dr. Gentry was born and raised in the Washington, D.C. area. He graduated with “Distinguished Honors” from The George Washington University in 1985, where he obtained his Undergraduate Bachelors Degree. Dr. Gentry then attended Georgetown University School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude, “With Highest Honors,” in 1989. While at Georgetown Dr. Gentry received numerous honors and awards for his outstanding work, including the Georgetown Alumni Association Award. In 1998, Dr. Gentry was awarded the prestigious Fellowship of The Academy of General Dentistry Award. In addition, Dr. Gentry is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, Northern Virginia Dental Society, Maryland State Dental Association, The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and The Academy of General Dentistry. He is listed in The Guide to America’s Top Dentists, and voted a top dentist in Virginia by Virginia Living, and also voted a Top Dentist by Northern Virginia Magazine. Dr. Gentry serves on The Dean's Faculty, and is a Clinical Instructor, at the University of Maryland Dental School where he teaches the 3rd and 4th year predoctoral students, and the Advanced General Dentistry Post Graduate Residents.
Dr. Gentry comes from a family of doctors, his grandfather was a physician, father is an Orthopedic Surgeon, and younger brother is an Emergency Room Physician, and his Uncle is a dentist. Dr. Gentry is very meticulous and takes great pride in his work. He is constantly updating his knowledge and skills with continuing education and training in all aspects of dentistry. Dr. Gentry has appeared on television and radio and written numerous articles for newspapers and magazines. Dr. Gentry is the father of four children and a licensed United States Youth Soccer Coach and enjoys volunteering his time coaching and mentoring young people. Dr. Gentry believes in paying close attention to the needs and expectations of each of his patients. Dr. Jeanette Coutin-Gentry, DDS
Dr. Coutin was born in Puerto Rico and came The United States to attend The University of Florida, at Gainesville in 1982. Following her studies in Chemistry and Microbiology at The University of Florida, Dr. Coutin then attended the prestigious Georgetown University School of Dental Medicine, where she obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 1990. She has been in private practice in Arlington, Virginia since graduating from Georgetown.
Dr. Coutin has appeared numerous times on TV and radio. She has had a segment on the evening news about dental health and answered health related questions “live” on the radio. Dr. Coutin writes, produces, and directs health related public service announcements for local television. She has written numerous articles about dentistry for newspapers and magazines. She has served as a judge for The Miss Latina Beauty Pageant. She was awarded “Young Entrepreneur of the Year” in 1996 from The U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Coutin is an Invisalign Preferred Provider, and is a member of The American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, Northern Virginia Dental Society, and The Academy of General Dentistry. She is listed in The Guide to America’s Top Dentists, and voted a top dentist in Virginia by Virginia Living, and also voted a Top Dentist by Northern Virginia Magazine. Dr. Peter A. Neff, DDS, ScD, DPH, FACD,FADI, FCFPA, AAOFP
Dr. Neff graduated from The Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1963. In 1966 he left a lucrative practice in Florida to accept a post as Professor and Chairman of Georgetown's Occlusion Department which he held until 1990. Dr. Neff has traveled the globe giving hundreds of lectures and workshops to academic and dental schools and organizations. His 1975 book, "TMJ, Occlusion and Function", which has been translated into 5 languages, is used by dental students around the world.
Dr. Neff's reputation has attracted patients as high profile as the late King Hussein of Jordan. Grateful for alleviating him of pain and hearing loss that mystified leading dental and medical experts, King Hussein awarded Dr. Neff with his countries highest honor, the "Alkawab" decoration. During his illustrious career, for his contributions to dental research, teaching, and patient care, Dr. Neff has received dozens of recognitions from countries all over the world. Dr. Neff is on the faculty of The University of Maryland College of Dentistry and Howard University. Dr. Neff was born of Greek parents in Cairo Egypt. He ran the 100 meter dash in the 1948 Olympics for Egypt. Dr Neff had a distinguished military career in the US Marines prior to attending Georgetown.
Dr. Neff is a member of the Hall of Excellence, and the following organizations: American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, American College of Dentists, American College of Prosthodontists, American Equilibration Society, International College of Dentists, Academy of General Dentistry, International Society of Occlusal Studies, TN C.R.A.N.I.O., American Alliance of TMD Organizations(Chairman). Dr. Neff is past president and life member of the A.E.S., A.A.C.B., A.A.O.F.P. He is a life member of the American Dental Association, A.A.C.O.F.P., and The Society of Occlusal Studies.
